Bolton Awarded by CONAI
Our commitment to sustainability, and in particular creating increasingly sustainable packaging, was recognised and awarded in the context of the ‘Conai Prevention Call 2019’.
Bolton Manitoba and Manetti & Roberts received the ‘Conai Prevention Call Award’ for two achievements: reducing weight of cardboard used for displays of WC Net Tavolette and Vetril and Smac triggers by about 20%, and reducing the weight of cardboard used for external packaging of Somatoline Cosmetic sachets by about 40%. To receive the awards for the winning projects, Luciano Pirovano, Sustainable Development Director at Bolton Food, Eleonora Venturini, CSR Manager for the Home & Personal Care Divisions, and Tommaso Nardi, Francesca Falcone and Susanna Maggioni from the R&D departments of Manetti & Roberts and Bolton Manitoba were called on stage of the new sustainability event: The Economy of the Future. Bolton Food, which received the CONAI award for the fourth consecutive year, was recognised with the ‘Special Award’ for the reduction of aluminium in the Insalatissime Rio Mare packaging, from a thickness of 0.24 mm to 0.22.
“We have been working on packaging for a long time because it’s the product’s first approach to consumers and because the quantity of packaging to be managed is becoming increasingly important. Even a few millimeters’ reduction is an accomplishment,” says Luciano Pirovano, Sustainable Development Director at Bolton Food.
